"Because it is intended to upend the status quo."
That statement, which is emblazoned on Dahlia El Gazzar's LinkedIn profile, is a call to action as well as a personal philosophy. To establish a unique brand presence in your market and sector, you must break free from outdated customs, habits, and self-limiting ideas.
Due to popular demand, El Gazzar and her Dahlia+Agency team are returning to NAR NXT. The team had one-on-one sessions with hundreds of NAR NXT attendees last year at their Revitalize Your Brand Bar (part of AXIS). (No fee applies!)
El Gazzar provides the following guidance on defining and enhancing your brand:
1. Recognize your abilities. Perhaps you possess exceptional empathy, a unique skill for facts and numbers, flawless taste, or a well-curated clientele. You can find your unique gifts with the assistance of friends, family, coworkers, and previous clients. Your own brand is built upon those.
2. Don't only use your LinkedIn profile as a virtual CV. Make sure it is comprehensive, accurately represents your brand, and isn't unused. Write brand-reinforcing material or share posts that speak to you. "You are needed by the world," El Gazzar declares.
3. Pay attention to your body language online. Your brand is visible when you videochat with clients and coworkers. Use your attire, your demeanor, and the position of your camera to convey interest. Avoid the temptation to check your phone during conversations.
4. Avoid becoming triggered. You had a rough morning because your husband was rude, the kids were late for school, you spilled coffee on your favorite jacket, and clients pulled out of the contract. Instead of concentrating on such triggers, pay attention to the glimmers, such as the first spring blooms, the sun streaming through the window, a friend's text, or an excellent client testimonial. "We deal with heavy stuff sometimes," El Gazzar explains. "We get through it thanks to the glimmers."
