Have you ever wondered what it takes to deal with celebrities in real estate? Working with clients who aren't famous isn't all that different from being a celebrity real estate agent, but there are a few key things to remember each time you work with a famous client. Here are the key lessons I've acquired working in this field.
1. The Ideal Policy Is Always One Of Privacy
When working with a real estate agent, privacy is typically the most valued feature. When they hear the first rumblings of a celebrity moving, a lot of the tabloids and television crews in NYC are ready to pounce.
When selling a celebrity property, we have a vetting process that includes the buyer's representative turning over information identifying the buyer, such as a bio and a prospective letter of employment. This is done because we always want to safeguard the client's best interests. Before we discuss the specifics of the property, we also use non-disclosure agreements.
We next ask our famous or well-known seller to store all family photos and honors that might contain their name or other information that might reveal who resides in the property.
When showing a well-known buyer around, we typically have the listing agent register them under their manager's name and have the listing agent sign an NDA as well.
2. Invest Completely In Client Service
Knowing the foods and drinks that celebrities enjoy as well as any other goods that real estate brokers may have on hand to make them feel at home are other factors that contribute to their comfort. Cashmere blankets and gloves are excellent choices for the wintertime commute throughout town to various houses.
We also always provide sugar-free snacks, gum, sweets, and fresh water on hand.
3. Get To Know The Team As A Whole
These transactions heavily rely on corporate managers, lawyers, and even personal assistants. Being adaptable and flexible enough to assist with the delivery of furniture or other items, meeting with designers and contractors throughout and after the purchase will also ensure that you have gone above and beyond your role as a real estate agent, and the A-list client will hopefully remember you and your skill set in this way.
